ACTOR, PRODUCER, DIRECTOR.
Born in Newcastle upon Tyne in northern England, Leah Bell can't remember a time when she didn't want to sing. Leah made her first stage appearance at the tender age of 12, when she performed "Hey Big Spender" in a bingo hall to raise money for charity. Having then, as they say in show business, 'trod the boards', Leah was determined to make her showbiz dream actually come true.
Within no time at all Leah was a well established performer, regularly touring the country working with some of entertainment's top names which included Ken Dodd, Bob Monkhouse, Cannon and Ball, Danny La Rue and Norman Wisdom. She also appeared in several pantomimes with household names including Jack Douglas and David Jason.
As her career developed, Leah dreamed of having her own production company and in 1987 her hard work came to fruition as her first production 'Hollywood Express' enjoyed a successful tour. She carried on to produce and star in a number of tours including 'Leah's Fabulous 50's and Swinging 60's Show' and her long running 'Silver Bells' show.
Working closely with her husband Johnny de Little, she has continued her exciting career. Along the way she has been recognised with theatrical accolades including the prestigious 'Stage' Award, The Jack of Clubs Award, the Variety Club Award for Jersey's Entertainer of the Year for 2 years running and The Lord Delfont Silver Rose Bowl Award.
In recent years she has produced, directed and starred in 9 pantomimes at the Consett Empire Theatre. Never one to 'sit back and relax' she collaborated with Ed Waugh on a new production of the hilarious 'Dirty Dusting' which for the past five years has played to packed out theatres across the length and breadth of Britain. She has also co-written and produced 'Right Place, Wrong Time' which has toured nationally since 2017.
After being a long time fan of North East playwright, Catherine Cookson, Leah was approached to bring a new adaptation of 'The Cinder Path' to the stage. The new production (uniquely set to original music) will launch in 2019.
